no more nighttime mom.

I like my sleep. My husband can tell you that when I fall asleep on the sofa after we watch a movie, there is NO way he's getting me up to go to bed unless he actually carries me. When I'm asleep I like to keep it that way...which is funny because I have a 6 week old baby. Well I don't get up in the night anymore, my friends. Let me introduce you to the wonderful Babywise. Lauren went 8 hours between feedings last night and mommy is ready to take on the day.

Yeah baby!!! I seriously SWEAR by that book. I think I've recommended it to about 20 people so far... BEST BOOK EVER! So happy for you guys!

OH man I can't do it. I did it with Joey and it turns out when he was crying he really was needing something.

He still woke up crying due to teething pain when he was 2!!! I have since decided to just roll with it and trust my kid. (and we had done babywise for years by then..)

for baby number 2 I threw it out the window. thank goodness.

Shoot! That sucks. Lauren never wakes up early unless she is hungry (come to find out). We figured out that she wasn't getting enough to eat so sometimes I have to pump to make sure shes getting enough ounces. So at night, we make sure she eats a ton so she's nice and full to last the whole night. Other than that, she never wakes up early or cries and cries. Maybe kids are just different.

Oh most newborns are similar but they keep growing and changing. Wake up b/c they discover their feet. Wake up b/c they are sick. Wake up b/c they have nightmares.

Jos and I decided that regardless of how long we have to be there for them in the night- we want them to 100% know that if they have a nightmare etc. or if their teeth are hurting or their legs (growing pains I know I remember those..) that mom and dad will be there.

Joey gets to come into our bed anytime he wakes up now. (he only does if he's super sick- or extra thirsty due to a cold etc.) But when he was 2 and getting molars.. he woke up 4 TIMES/NIGHT AGAIN!! the beginning is where I want my babies to learn that I. am. always. here. always.

Like I said babywise was good for some things for us though. (always put them down awake etc.) but that's it. I am no longer a believer. (not criticizing though! just offering another viewpoint.)

i never read baby wise, but I did make up my own method of " just ignore the crying, i need my sleep"! my kids sleep through the night and take a 2 hour nap everyday because they dont have a choice!! haha. looks like u have picked up the mommy role fast!
